Addition to Hackman Family
Congratulations to Tom Hackman, VP-Programming, and his wife Becky on the birth of their son in July. Samuel arrived on July 27 and timed his arrival to coincide with the end of the West Virginia Governor's School for the Arts, which Tom leads. Samuel joins older siblings Cyrus and Caroline.
We wish them all well.
Near San Francisco
It was not ALL work when the USITT Board of Directors and Commissioners met in San Francisco. Two different events drew many to Berkeley. Meyer Sound hosted the participants in the most recent USITT Presents as well as members and officers who were in town at their delightful space for a reception.
Some others found the opportunity to visit Berkeley Rep for a preview of No Man's Land with Ian McKellen, Patrick Steward, Billy Crudup, and Shuler Hensley which is heading from California to a run on Broadway where it will be performed in rep with Waiting for Godot.
Still others found the street theatre just as enjoyable as the more formal events, even after noting that clothing is not required in The City.
