Upstate New York: Slate Fall Event, Run Membership Drive

The University at Buffalo's Theatre and Dance Department and Center for the Arts will host the Upstate New York Regional Section's fall workshop and meeting September 13.

The schedule includes MIG welding, Rigging Calculations, Digital Consoles Compare and Contrast, Small Budgets by BIG Lighting Impact Parts 1 & 2, Tour of UB Costume Shop, Fabric Manipulation, and more. There is an extra-cost makeup session from the Toronto School of Makeup.

The event is free for members and $15 for non-members. For more information, check the website. Participants can join the Section or renew at the event's sign-in table.

The Region is also in the midst of its annual membership drive. All members who wish to be considered "current" need to submit dues September 30. All members not paid by September 30 will be considered delinquent. Membership is good through July 1. Members can pay after September 30, but are considered delinquent until paid. While delinquent, members are unable to vote.

Ohio Valley: Seek Exhibitors, Ideas for Fall Conference

The Ohio Valley Regional Section is seeking exhibitors and additional presenters for its Fall Conference Saturday, October 4.

The event will run 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kent State University's Roe Green Center. It will include a membership meeting, book signings, and the Ezekiel Exhibit and Awards.

Chair Jeff Gress has posted a Google Docs form to submit any programming ideas. Any company or school interested in exhibiting should e-mail Elynmarie Kazle at emk2u@aol.com.
