Changes at ETC

Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) has announced changes to its executive staff with new titles and roles for two current vice presidents. Industry veteran Steve Terry will assume leadership of ETC’s global R&D department, and his role within the company’s service operations will expand. His new title is Vice President of Research and Development and Professional Services. A tireless proponent of innovation, Mr. Terry brings his strong executive and field experience to R&D, working to further integrate ETC’s product development efforts. At the same time, Steve Downs has been named Vice President of Manufacturing and European Operations where he will combine the roles of global director of production operations and management of ETC’s daily operations in Europe. That includes the Holzkirchen, Germany base of Transtechnik Lichtsystems and ETC’s London, England operations.

TMB Lights Up Brussels

Designers Daphne Delbeke and Marc Largent temporarily turned the top eight floors of an office tower in Brussels into a gigantic new-product announcement with help from the ColourPix V-LED system they first saw at TMB. The massive LED array used custom graphics from their company, Magic Monkey, to announce the launch of Toyota’s hybrid car, Prius, in Europe. City Theatrical Goes Miniature

City Theatrical has added the WDS Personal Dimmer to its award-winning WDS Wireless Dimming System. The tiny wearable device combines a wireless DMX receiver with a five-amp battery-operated dimmer which allows costumes, scenery, or props to be electrified and controlled by any DMX console. The 3¼ inch by 4¼ inch by 7/8 inch device is compatible with the entire range of WDS wireless transmitters, receivers, and dimmers.
