Conference & Stage Expo:

Employment Service Returns

Carolyn Satter - Conference Employment Service Coordinator

After a year’s hiatus, the Employment Service will again be available during the 2011 Annual Conference & Stage Expo offering opportunities for job seekers and employers. The Employment Service will have offices and interview space in the Westin, Charlotte, adjacent to the Charlotte Convention Center. This will provide a quiet and professional atmosphere for review of jobs and applicants, and on-site interviews.

Forms will be available online, for both employers and job seekers, in December at www.usitt.org/2011. To have the greatest probability of success, pre-registration is strongly advised. All program participants must be members of USITT since the service is a member benefit.

As a special incentive, organizations exhibiting at Stage Expo can list multiple jobs at one low rate. A wide variety of employment opportunities can be offered including summer employment, graduate positions, intern positions, assistantships, teaching posts, and professional jobs.

Job applicants can range from undergraduates, to graduate students, to entry level professionals, to professionals with broad-ranging experience.

The fees for USITT’s Conference Employment Service have been restructured with incentives added for those signed up before the conference. Those who sign up by February 16 will receive a CD containing resumes of all candidates; or have their resumes included on those CDs. Employers and candidates can then sign up for private interview space during the 2011 Annual Conference.

Fees for 2011 if completed by February 16 are: Job seekers, $20 for posting a resume; Employers, $150 per posting with a maximum of $375 for three or more positions; Stage Expo exhibitors will pay a $125 fee with no limit on the number of jobs posted.

Fees will increase for those who sign up at the Conference.

Applications and job postings can be viewed at the Employment Service Center from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, and 8 to 10 a.m. and 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 9. Interviews will take place 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 10 and 11, and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
