Midwest: To Hold Scene Painting Workshop, Name Officers
The Midwest Regional Section and Chicago Spotlight, Inc. will hold an intensive, two-day scene painting workshop at American Players Theatre (APT) in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Tiffany Fier, APT's scenic charge artist and professor of scenic design at North Dakota State University, will lead participants through hands-on practice in a variety of painting techniques based on the participants’ requests. The workshop is August 11 to 12 and costs $75 to participate. Anyone interested in registering can contact Steve Jacobs at steve@chicagospotlight.com.
Additionally, the Midwest Regional Section congratulates newly elected/re-elected officers who start terms on July 1: Mick Alderson, Vice-Chair for Membership; Mike “Scrooge” Nielsen, Treasurer; Shane Kelly, Chair Elect 2014-2016; and Richard Dionne, M.C. Friedrich, Marty Lazarus, and Ellen White, Directors at Large.
Southeast: Master Classes Scheduled for September, Election Results Announced
The Southeast Regional Section Fall Master Classes will be held September 13 and 14 at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Information will be posted on the website at www.southeast.usitt.org as details become available.
Newly elected and re-elected officers are Zachary Stevenson, Vice-Chair for Membership; Ivan Ingermann, Secretary; and Emily Gill, Treasurer.
Northern Boundary: Seeking Session Ideas, Presenters for Fall Conference
Details about the 2013 Northern Boundary Regional Section Fall Conference, scheduled for September 6 and 7 at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minnesota, will be available later this summer. Watch the website at nbs.usitt.org.
Todd Reemtsma, Section Chair, is seeking ideas for session topics for the conference. He is asking those with ideas for sessions or presenters to pass them along to any of the NBS Board Members who can bring them forward at the board’s summer meeting.
