Stage Technologies in Hong Kong

Stage Technologies has successfully completed the final phase of refurbishing the flying system at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The facility remained in full operation during the renovation, which included the design and installation of a counterweight assist flying system which is able to switch between powered and manual flying. Jim Roberts, Stage Technologies' project manger, said "We were on site for several months at a time, often working overnight to accommodate the performances and rehearsals taking place in what is a very busy theatre."

Pathway Afloat

Pathway Connectivity is keeping data flowing in four of the most technically sophisticated facilities aboard Cunard's recently-launched Queen Mary 2. Said Gary Douglas, Pathport product manager, "Thanks to the entire design team, the QM2 is a wildly successful integration of the Pathport DMX Management System with Pathport Alliance products like the GrandMa. These products have created a very flexible solution for the ship's unique requirements." Pathport is in the Main Lounge, the Queen's Room, the disco, and Illuminations - the first floating planetarium ever constructed.

Helms Joins Sapsis Rigging

Allison Helms has joined Sapsis Rigging, Inc. as the new chief safety officer. "Having Allison will help us take our safety programs, already some of the best and most comprehensive in the industry, to the next level," said President Bill Sapsis, of Sapsis Rigging. Ms. Helms spent five seasons at Glimmerglass Opera, two of them as their chief safety officer, and has experience in both academic and regional theatre.

Wybron Named as Distributor

Wybron, Inc. has been named Lighting Innovation's exclusive North American distributor for the new Super Beam 1200. Lighting Innovation has successfully distributed Wybron products in Austria for several years. The recently launched Super Beam 1200 has been called "the next generation super bright beam light." It uses a new Philips 80V 1200W lamp with sophisticated double reflector optics.
