The deadline for lowest possible rates for USITT's 2005 Annual Conference & Stage Expo is December 2. Professional Development Workshops and Regional Attractions are also starting to fill, so people interested in any of the topics or attractions are urged to sign up soon to ensure a spot.

December 15 is the deadline for all USITT election ballots to be returned to the USITT Office. Biographical information and ballots are being mailed to current members in mid-November. Each ballot package includes instructions and a postage-paid envelope to encourage participation. Results of the election will be announced in the February issue of Sightlines and at the Annual Meeting.

Great ideas have been coming in for the Costume Commission's Poster Session at the Toronto Conference and Stage Expo. A few slots, however, are still available.

This is a great opportunity to be involved. For some, doing a poster session may enable them to get funding to attend the conference. As many as 20 presenters will stand beside their posters, each illustrating an innovative or imaginative design or construction technique, a solution to a problem, a classroom or management technique, the results of research, or other ideas, discoveries, or developments in the field of costuming.

To participate, send an abstract of the information to be exhibited on the poster. This should be a brief, concise summary ­ typewritten and no more than 200 words. Each submission will be juried.
