Named Regional Sales Manager |
Thommy Hall
has been named regional sales manager for Vari-Lite and Entertainment
Technology, and will serve clients in the southeastern United
States from the Lightolier/Genlyte office in Orlando. He has previous
experience selling both the Vari-Lite and Entertainment Technology
product lines. "We are experiencing tremendous response to the
new Vari-Lite fixtures, and exceptional growth as we expand Entertainment
Technology's product line" said Bob Schacheri, vice president
of sales. Vari-Lite debuted two new fixtures at the recent ETS-LDI,
while Entertainment Technology showcased its distributed dimming solutions.

New
Agreement for ETC and Cast |
Electronic
Theatre Controls (ETC) and
Cast Software have announced changes to their
worldwide distribution relationship. Effective
January 1, 2005, Cast Software will take over
worldwide marketing and distribution of WYSIWYG
while ETC, in partnership with Cast, will continue
the development and marketing of the Emphasis
control system.
Additionally, Cast will supply
ETC with WYSIWYG Perform Console Edition for
distribution with several of its control products
including the Avab, transtechnik Lichtsysteme,
and Emphasis product lines. Under the previous
agreement, ETC was the exclusive distributor
for the WYSIWYG suite of products worldwide.
Both companies say there will be little to
no impact to ETC or Cast customers. Only the logistics
of distribution will be changing. Both companies
also note they will continue to release software
and fixture library updates for Emphasis on
a regular basis.

New
Touring Power Supply |
City
Theatrical Inc. and Color Kinetics
Inc. are releasing a new touring style power/data
supply, PDS-750 TR, for Color Kinetics ColorBlast,
ColorBurst, and iColor Cove intelligent solid-state
lighting fixtures. The compact device allows
easy connection and disconnection of multiple
fixtures by means of four-pin XLR connectors.
City Theatrical President Gary Fails said "We
just listened to our customers who asked us
to build this device...Our license agreement
with Color Kinetics gives us the ability to
use their patented technology in new and innovative

TMB
to Partner with G-LEC |
TMB has
been named the exclusive sales partner for G-LEC
products in North America. The
appointment coincides with the introduction of
G-LEC's LightFrame in North America. It is the
first of the company's systems to be made available
for purchase.

Future
Light Sold to Seaman |
Future Light,
Inc., a specialty lighting and accessories manufacturer,
founded by Paul Vincent, of Vincent Lighting Systems, has
been sold to John Seaman, who had been vice president of the company.
Mr. Vincent said, "In the past, there has been a gray line separating
Vincent Lighting and Future Light. This sale will help clarify the
distinction between the two companies." Mr. Seaman, who had also
served as VP of Vincent Lighting, has resigned to take ownership and
full control of Future Light. Vincent Lighting Systems remains a theatrical
dealer and rental house with headquarters in Cleveland. Branches
in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Detroit are not affected by the sale.
