Sponsors Add Spice To 50th Celebration

The 50th Annual Conference & Stage Expo is right around the corner. Members who plan to attend may want to take note of the following activities and enhancements provided courtesy of generous sponsors.

Monday & Tuesday
9 a.m. to 5 p.m., both days - Lighting & Costume,
Tuesday only - Projection
Kansas City Convention & Entertainment Facilities (KCCEF), Room 2210 (lighting) , 2209 (costume), 2211 (projection)

Broadway Seminars will feature designers including Howard Werner and Ken Billington discussing their design process in day-long sessions with plenty of time for questions. Attendees will enjoy breaks throughout the day and be invited to a private reception where they can mingle with the designers and other participants. Wednesday
8 to 10 p.m.
Imperial Ballroom, Kansas City Marriott Downtown – Muehlebach Tower

Fifty & Nifty caps off the first official day of the Conference. Fun-seekers will gather in the Imperial Ballroom for a night to remember. Participants can request a tune from the DJ, enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres, or wet their whistles at one of the many (cash) bars.

Wednesday thru Friday
11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday & Thursday;
11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday
KCCEF - Bartle Hall, Exhibit Halls A/B/C

Stay in touch by using any of the six Cyber Cafés located throughout Stage Expo (click here to view a map). All kiosks will be outfitted with computers and internet connections, making it a breeze to check e-mail or surf the web in between visiting exhibitors (and sponsors). The cafes will be available anytime Stage Expo is open.

Friday
9:15 to 10:45 a.m.
KCCEF, Room 2103

Check out Jennifer Tipton speaking on The Art of Stage Lighting. Her blockbuster presentation will be streamed live on the USITT website for those who can't make the 50th celebration. The presentation will be available after the event on the website as video on demand, courtesy of sponsor Barbizon Lighting Company.

Saturday
10 to 11:30 a.m.
KCCEF, Room 2103

Francois Leroux will delight attendees with a presentation on the future of the art and industry. Mr. Leroux's presentation will be streamed live on the USITT website so a wider audience can participate. Video of the presentation will continue to be available on the web thanks to sponsor H & H Specialties, Inc.
