The 50th Annual Conference & Stage Expo in Kansas City, Missouri will offer not only the usual networking and professional development, but so much more! Join in the celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary with opportunities sponsored by members.

For the first time, USITT is bringing the best and brightest designers from Broadway to the conference for intimate, day-long sessions.* These Broadway Seminars provide attendees with the opportunity to join stars like Ken Billington and Tony Walton as they discuss their development as designers and their work process. Sponsorships will provide breaks for all three seminars – Lighting, Costume and Projection – as well a cocktail reception for the designers and seminar participants.

Thanks to live streaming video, members who can’t be in Kansas City can still enjoy the stimulating and inspiring presentations of blockbuster speakers like Sally Struthers, Margaret Mitchell, Jennifer Tipton, and Francois Leroux. Kick off the festivities Wednesday evening of Conference week at Fifty & Nifty. The party starts at 8 p.m. in the Imperial Ballroom (Muehlebach Tower) in the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Join in the fun by reminiscing with old pals and socializing with new ones. Count on cash bars and complimentary hors d’oeuvres provided by generous sponsors A V Pro, Inc.; ETC; SECOA; and Texas Scenic Company.

Stay connected using one of the many Cyber Cafés located throughout Stage Expo (click here to view a map). The cafés, kiosks outfitted with computers and internet connections, allow attendees to stay in touch with employers and family while working on their professional development. Five cafés are already supported courtesy of City Theatrical, Inc., IATSE Local 1, InterAmerica Stage Inc., Live Design/LDI, and RC4 Wireless. Three cafés are still available for the company or school looking for a unique promotional opportunity.
