Costume Design & Technology Commission
Soon USITT members will meet and greet each other in the Valley of the Sun. The Costume Design & Technology Commission reminds members of the exciting programming slated for the 2007 Conference & Stage Expo in Phoenix.
The conference will start off with two very exceptional Professional Development Workshops: Creating a Digital Portfolio and the sold out Eliminating the Stress of Distressing Your Costumes.
Wednesday, March 14 sessions will cover dancewear techniques, gelatin prosthetics, a look at Irene Corey's work, and the always popular Costume Commission Meeting. Thursday the Stage Expo opens.
Thursday also offers the Costume Poster Session, International Guest Marina Raytchinova, and a regional session on Native American Dress. Friday is full of fun with Management Strategies, Men's Unmentionables, The Ideal Portfolio, Connecting the Costume Community, Wardrobe Work on Broadway, and a special presentation of the USITT Distinguished Achievement Award in Costume Design & Technology to Katherine Marshall and reception.
There will still be sessions on Saturday including Computer Printing for Fabric Modification, the return of Developing the Design Idea, and the Costume Shop as Classroom.
Anyone attending the Conference should also enjoy the All-Conference Happy Hour, and the Awards Banquet where Irene Corey's USITT Award will be presented.
