DMX 512 Now Available

USITT DMX512A is now available for purchase through the Institute in hard copy or through ANSI's Electronic Store as a PDF file. The list price is $40, but member and quantity discounts are available.

The update to the standard, (ANSI E1.11-2004, Entertainment Technology - USITT DMX512-A - Asynchronous Serial Digital Data Transmission Standard for Controlling Lighting Equipment and Accessories) tightens up some requirements and includes provisions for some added functionality. The purpose of the update is to standardize the lighting data transmission process while trying to avoid making current systems obsolete.
