Stage Expo 2005
Takes
On a New Shape

If you
have visited Stage Expo on the conference
website, you may have noticed that Stage
Expo will have a different shape in 2005. Exhibit
halls A&B in the Metro Toronto Convention
Centre's North Building stretch nearly
500 feet from side-to-side, and just under 300
feet front-to-back, creating a space that is
much wider than it is deep. With 14 aisles running
front-to-back and just seven from side-to-side,
it seems that everyone is within a stone's
throw of the front of the halls.
Another unusual
feature about the exhibit halls we'll
be using in Toronto is that they are located
above the registration area and meeting rooms.
In many convention centers (like the South Building
of the MTCC where USITT was in 1999), the exhibit
halls are at ground level or below with meeting
rooms on the upper levels. In the North Building
of the MTCC, it's an easy
trip up the escalator from the registration area
directly to Stage Expo, located on the 300 Exhibit
Hall Level.
The conference registration
area will be just inside the main Front Street
entrance of the MTCC along with many of meeting
rooms on the 200 Ground Level. Other meeting rooms
and spaces for all-conference events are just
below registration on the 100 Constitution
Hall/Grand Ballroom Level. The North Building
of the MTCC is connected to the InterContinental Hotel,
and just a couple blocks from the Fairmont
Royal York and the Holiday Inn on King, putting
all of the conference venues within easy walking
distance. |
