The Joint Training Initiative of The ESTA Foundation and USITT announces Electrical, Rigging and Projection Training Sessions to be held at Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona. The event will be hosted and co-produced by the Herberger College School of Theatre & Film and the Desert States Regional Section. The Initiative will also hold Vectorworks Spotlight, Theatrical Rigging and Electrical Training Sessions at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland. This event will be hosted and co-produced by Prince George’s Community College with IATSE Local 22. The January 13 to 16 sessions in Arizona are designed for entertainment technicians at a basic to intermediate level. The electrical courses will be taught by Richard Cadena, ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician and ETCP Recognized Trainer, and the Rigging courses will be taught by Jay Glerum, ETCP Recognized Trainer. The projection sessions will be conducted by Jake Pinholster, professor of media design, and Eric Ludacer, head of projections for Cirque du Soleil’s Love. The courses at Prince George’s Community College will run January 26 to 31. Vectorworks Spotlight courses will be taught by Frank Brault, director of training and technical support at Nemetschek, North America (NNA). Theatrical Rigging courses will be presented by David Boevers, ETCP Certified Rigger and ETCP Recognized Rigging Trainer. Entertainment Electrical sessions will be conducted by Eric Rimes, ETCP Certified Electrician and ETCP Recognized Electrical Trainer. ETCP Certified Technicians will receive credits towards recertification for attending these sessions. Course descriptions, fees and the registration forms are available here.
