Sapsis 'on the road'

Bill Sapsis of Sapsis Rigging Entertainment Services, Inc. has been “on the road again” with his rigging seminar programs. In March, he led the rigging portions of the 19th annual Columbus McKinnon Hoist School hosted by Mountain Productions. He also held sessions in locations as varied as IATSE Local 1 in New York, New York and Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. Internationally, Mr. Sapsis was in Helsinki, Finland leading a session for the Finnish Theatre Academy and then in South Africa visiting Johannesburg for Upstage Lighting and Cape Town for FX-Unlimited.

d&b Opens Korean Office

d&b audiotechnik has opened an office in Seoul, South Korea, under the direction of Hak Kwon Kim, known as Kevin to his English-speaking colleagues. Before opening the new office, he distributed d&b in the Korean market for several years, and knows that their systems have considerable potential. “With a new market, hungry for quality goods, I’ve every reason to believe that d&b will be very successful in South Korea” he noted.

Selecon Buys Technology Patent

Selecon has reached an agreement with High End Systems to acquire intellectual property in the field of optical dimming. The acquired technology will likely be used in Selecon’s advanced technology Pacific Ellipsoidals. Managing Director Jeremy Collins of Selecon said “High End’s IP will allow us to deliver an improved dimming solution for our Pacific MSR line at an affordable cost.”
