November in Orlando, Florida proved to be a great venue for increasing awareness of USITT within the entertainment and live event community.

Two USITT staff members were assisted by Janet Harreld, Houston Promotions Coordinator, in explaining what USITT has to offer, and what dynamic programming will be available to those who attend the 2008 Annual Conference & Stage Expo in Houston, Texas in March.

It was interesting and gratifying to see so many USITT members who stopped by to visit. Often they were able to answer visitors' questions and give first-hand accounts of what they had gained by being part of the organization. Among those on hand were Past Presidents John Uthoff and Bill Byrnes, VP Conferences Joe Aldridge, Directors at Large Bill Browning, Dan Culhane, and David Krajec, members Dennis Dorn, Van Phillips, and many others.

Also on hand was Helen Willard, Stage Expo Sales Manager, who was able to wrap up details for exhibitors on a few remaining spaces at Stage Expo 2008.

Congratulations are in order for many USITT members who won awards or unveiled new products at LDI. Reports can be found throughout this issue of Sightlines about those activities, including those from ESTA and Contributing and Sustaining members.

Winner of the 2008 Conference registration, chosen at random from the more than 400 people who entered the drawing, was Justin Stasiw of Penn State University. We hope to see him again next March in Houston.
