In Memoriam:
Pierre-Andre Salim

Pierre-Andre Salim, 26, died November 18 as a result of injuries suffered while unloading a truck for a production at the Yale Repertory Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut.

Mr. Salim, who had been a USITT member for a year, was born in Strasbourg, France and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. He received a degree in computer science from the National University of Singapore in 2002 and then worked for several theatre companies in Singapore.

He enrolled in the Yale School of Drama and was scheduled to receive his master's degree in technical design and production in 2009.

Survivors include his parents, Dr. Sidharta Salim and Li Ting Tjoe of Jakarta, Indonesia; a brother, Michel Alexandre Salim, a doctoral student at Indiana University; a sister, Adeline Salim, a medical student at the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom; and his maternal grandmother, Pat Lee Pin.

Private services were held for the family and members of the School of Drama. In lieu of flowers, family members requested asked that donations be made to UNICEF, c/o UNICEF/USA, 333 East 38th Street, New York, NY 10016.
