Students Eligible for H & H Conference Award

Thanks to Contributing Member H & H Specialties Inc., six student members of USITT will have their registration fees paid for the 2006 Annual Conference & Stage Expo in Louisville.

The California manufacturer of stage tracks, stage rigging and more has been a Contributing Member of the Institute for 25 years and has been a long-time associate of the Institute. The leadership and employees of H&H Specialties have always shown a keen interest in the growth and health of the theatrical industry.

Their support is a testament to their belief that USITT is vital to the future of the industry. This is the reason the H & H Specialties student conference scholarship program was initiated in 2000. This program gives support to student members who have shown a continuing commitment to USITT.

A random drawing will choose six lucky student recipients who have registered to attend the Annual Conference & Stage Expo before the Very Early registration deadline of December 15. They will have their conference fees returned, thanks to H & H; the only qualification is that winners must have been members of USITT for at least a year.

USITT greatly appreciates the significant financial contribution which H & H has made over the past several years. This is the sixth year those contributions will be used as direct support for student conference attendance, an important part of the organization's educational mission.

Elynmarie Kazle, Vice-President for Membership & Development, praised the continuing commitment of Mary Louise Higgins, President of H & H Specialties; Reid Neslage, H & H Vice President; and the entire company. H & H Specialties has continued to lead the way in supporting USITT's efforts to develop programs which encourage student members to expand their knowledge base within the profession.

Because H & H has made it extremely easy to take advantage of this special opportunity, all students have to do is register before the very early deadline and they will be considered. Winners of the random selection process will be notified in late December.
