International Opportunities

International Travel Grants

Do you have a research or continuing education project that can benefit from international travel?

Applications are open for the 2018 International Travel Grants.

These grants provide up to $2,500 in support to USITT individual/professional and student members for international travel to conduct advanced research and education in theatre-related fields. Possible projects include: research for productions or scholarly pursuits; attendance at theatre exhibitions; theatre festivals; and theatre-related events, seminars, or workshops. All grant recipients must share their experiences with the USITT membership via methods like an article for TD&T or a Conference presentation.

Get the details here.

Applications close December 1, 2017, and grant recipients will be recognized as a part of the USITT Annual Conference & Stage Expo in Fort Lauderdale.

Student Ambassador Program 2018

Collaborating with an international industry professional can become a reality at USITT 2018 in Fort Lauderdale.

The Student Ambassador Program provides an opportunity for students to network and interact with well-known international designers and technicians who will be attending the Conference.

Three student members will pair with three international guests with similar areas of focus. This encourages one-on-one networking between student designers and technicians and global colleagues.

“I would highly recommend the Student Ambassador Program to any student who wants to learn from a working professional in their field,” said 2017 Student Ambassador Program mentee Madison Burnes. “It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet other students who are focused and ambitious in their career goals.”

This opportunity is available to those who are USITT student or early career members.

Applications must be submitted by January 15, 2018. Learn more about the Student Ambassador Program and Apply.
