Costume Design & Technology Commission

The Costume Design & Technology Commission is offering two very exciting PDWs at the 2008 Conference & Stage Expo in Houston. The first holds interest for all theatre practitioners. It's a one-day session on photographing the art of theatre. With the growing use of digital cameras, everyone is looking for those extra hints to work with the specialty of theatrical lighting.

Donna Meester and professional photographer P. Solozano will instruct how to take photos that reflect that art. The second part of the session will be how to Photoshop those photos, so corrections can be made after the show is over. This session is open to all areas of design interested in enhancing portfolio photos.

The second session combines the art of pattern making with the need for computers in costuming. Jennifer Smith leads a two-day session using PatternMaker Software to build the basic patterns needed to optimize time. Many have asked for a session like this, and now is the chance to take advantage of Ms. Smith's knowledge and help.

See the USITT website for details of what is needed for each session. Space is limited and filling fast.
