Sponsored Events, Services Enhance Conference

The conversation was sparkling and the mood festive at the eighth annual Opening Night held in the ballroom at the Duke Energy Convention Center. Participants enjoyed the opportunity to kick off the Conference week networking with fellow attendees and partaking of scrumptious hors d’oeuvres provided courtesy of sponsors.

The Cyber Cafés saw heavy use over the three days of Stage Expo as attendees checked e-mail and surfed the web. Users also were able to learn more about sponsors’ products and services as the computers’ web browsers opened to their home pages.

Visitors to Tech Expo benefited from the interesting and educational projects on display, including “Stained Glass Windows Without the Glass” and “Friction Winches.” Attendees who wanted to have a permanent record of the creative solutions presented purchased copies of the Tech Expo Catalog. The 2009 Catalog will be available through the USITT bookstore soon.

Conference participants who took advantage of these services and events are urged to let the sponsoring companies and organizations know their support is greatly appreciated.
