Mikeska Joins A.C. Lighting

A.C. Lighting Inc. has appointed Fred Mikeska as its United States sales and marketing manager. He is responsible for all sales and marketing activities including all product lines sold exclusively in the US by A.C. Lighting as well as establishing the company's direct presence and dealer network. He will be supported by A.C.'s North American headquarters in Toronto, Canada, and its distribution facility in Buffalo.

Duran Duran Picks TOMCAT

When Duran Duran returned to the road, custom circles from TOMCAT USA were part of the equipment. Working with UpStaging, TOMCAT designed and manufactured three custom circles of different diameters as a vital part of the moving light show for the group's Astronaut World Tour.

TOMCAT also successfully concluded its most recent Hoist and Rigging Workshop in Midland, Texas with instructors including Don Dimitroff, Dave Sowa, Rocky Paulson, Morgan Neff, Keith Bohn, and Will Todd.

Kirkegaard Helps Restore Tennessee Theatre

The historic Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville, Tennessee has reopened after an extensive renovation and expansion. The $23 million project included not only restoration but modernization including the latest theatre and AV technology. Kirkegaard Associates worked closely with architects McCarty Holsaple McCarty and historic preservation architects Westlake Reed Leskosky to ensure integration of acoustic materials, finishes, and technology. Kirkegaard was also responsible for the design of new AV systems.

Stage Technologies Supports Award Winners

Three West End productions using automation systems provided by Stage Technologies won awards during the Laurence Olivier Awards 2005 in London. An additional 43 nominees also benefited from using Stage Technologies automation systems. Winners and nominees using Stage Technologies included Mary Poppins, The Woman in White, The Producers (winners), Festen, and productions at the Royal Opera House, the Barbican, and the Sadler's Wells Theatre.

Auerbach Aids in Design of Theatre

Auerbach Glasow, Architectural Lighting Design and Consulting, recently completed is work on the renovation of the MGM Hotel Casino Theatre for Cirque du Soleil's new production of KÀ. The show takes place within a 50-foot deep cavity filled with moving scenic elements. Auerbach worked with Cirque, MGM, and Marnell Corrao Associates in the lighting deign for the lobby, concessions, entry vestibule, and theatre.
